This season will be different than what you normally?experience. Join us as we continue our commitment to create, innovate and inspire through the power of dance.

Since my first creation with Ballet BC in 2011, the company has held my heart. The reality of being its new Artistic Director is humbling and extremely exciting. The past few months have allowed all of us time to reflect as we have seen our lives upended. The role of art and how it shapes our world is ever present; it has the power to capture our aliveness while being a source of healing, inspiration and hope.

I look forward to building upon the company’s legacy and cultivating its unique artistry. I want to thank everyone whose voice has shaped Ballet BC’s highly acclaimed reputation. What an achievement! The thought of working and collaborating with the incredible artists and a dedicated team is exhilarating.

In these times, the collective desire to create and connect with our Vancouver community is more significant than ever. Due to the pandemic, we have had to reimagine what this season will look like, and are excited to share some of those details with you today.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to call Vancouver home. I look forward to meeting all of you and to?sharing?the company’s diverse and creative vision with the local, national and international dance world.

Coming Soon

Our dancers will resume rehearsals next month, and the company will be collectively working together in creating both in-person and digital performances that we look forward to sharing with you in the coming weeks. We are incredibly honoured to welcome both new and returning artists to our studios this season.

We are currently in the process of developing one-of-a-kind site-specific productions in collaboration with other prominent Vancouver arts organizations, details of which we hope to share with you very soon. All of this, combined with the work of our new Filmmaker in Residence, Kevin Fitzgerald, who will be telling the behind-the-scenes stories of our dancers as they create dance in the pandemic, will present an opportunity for you to experience Ballet BC as you never have before.
