Holiday Campaign

In our final season with Emily Molnar as Artistic Director, you have the opportunity to help us expand our practice by digging deeper into the art form and exploring new artistic directions. We want to work even more closely as a company and with our communities to open a new chapter of creation, collaboration, and breath-taking moments on stage.

In order to sustain the legacy of Ballet BC and give voice to the excellence of Canadian artistry, we must train and provide professional development for our dancers.

After all, our dancers are everything to us.

This holiday season, we are asking you to make a donation by November 30 to ensure that Ballet BC is a place for innovative dance making at the highest of standards. When you make?a gift of $100 or more by November 30, you will receive an invitation to a private viewing of a live rehearsal of Medhi Walerski’s Romeo + Juliet!

You can join us on our journey as we continue to reinvent the art form of ballet.

Here are examples of ways that your gift can make a difference:

  • $975 – funds 1 costume in Aszure Barton’s BUSK
  • $600 – offers the opportunity for 4 students to participate in DanceXpress, an 8-week training program for at-risk youth who are aspiring dancers
  • $470 – keeps the costumes clean through drycleaning for 1 program
  • $250 – covers the cost of hair and make-up for 1 dancer each season
  • $100 – gifts a pair of shoes for 1 dancer to use in center and barre classes

Hear from our dancers:

Having the opportunity to perform world-class repertoire has allowed me to explore the various sides of myself. These experiences in a creation-based company have also given me space to find my own voice as a dancer and what I have to contribute to the room.”—Emily Chessa

I knew [Ballet BC] was the place I wanted to begin my professional dance career. I spent two years there as an apprentice, during which I was challenged by so many incredible opportunities and experiences that opened up all of these new ways for me to grow as an artist.“—Scott Fowler

I came to Ballet BC because I was searching for my own unique place in the world of dance. It is here that I have found a fit—the freedom to be myself inside a group of many unique individuals whom I admire, learn from and share with each day.“—Kirsten Wicklund
